Summer Re-Fresh

Summer is a time of fresh fruit, fresh veggies and fresh ideas. Everyday when I check the veggie garden I look for a new strawberry or to see if the tomatoes have ripen. I get excited watching the growth and change in color.

It has made me think about what fresh ideas I can bring to my life, work or play? How can I grow? Summer is a time for embracing the fresh air and a fresh perspective! Disclaimer: no fruit in photo is from my garden but a girl can dream😊

Taking the First Step In Making A Change

Summer is in full swing and we are over half the way through 2017 so NOW is the perfect time for you to check in on the changes you want (or planned) to make in your life this year.  Before you ask yourself questions like:

  • What you want more of? Less of?
  • What have you been putting off doing?
  • What were you planning to start after… or when everything slowed down?

Take a moment and close your eyes and SOAR above the details and to-do’s of your everyday routine.  Like a balloon floating in air, rise above and enjoy the view.

How to Practice Gratitude

The practice of gratitude as a tool for happiness has been around for many years. Long-term studies support gratitude’s effectiveness, suggesting that a positive, appreciative attitude contributes to greater success in work, better health, peak performance in sports and business and a higher sense of well-being.

So, if everyone acknowledges gratitude’s many benefits, why is it so difficult to sustain. So many of us are trained to notice what is broken, undone or lacking in our lives. And for gratitude to meet its full potential in our lives, it needs to become more than just a “Thanksgiving” or greeting card word. We have to learn a new

Spring Clean Your Mind to Bloom this Spring

It is Spring time! Baseball has started, bright flowers are blooming, and bees are buzzing. For many, a time for Spring Cleaning. A time to shake out the rugs, rid the house of the dried mud and dirt of winter and pull those weeds that have taken over the yard.

Spring is a time to refresh, organize, de-clutter and air out our homes. As I was organizing my bags for donation I thought: “Wouldn’t it be great if we could transfer this Spring Cleaning ritual into our minds and reap the rewards of a refreshed mindset”  to achieve our goals.

We can do this by first De-cluttering our minds of the

opportunity to re-claim or reset our goals. Goals help us work toward and keep us on

others are long forgotten.

Free Up Your Mind by Creating Habits

fog1-800pxWe can all agree that there is a glorification of BUSY going on and there is no shortage of suggestions on how to “Be more productive” or being asked to “Do more with less”.  One often overlooked way to help us save time in our day and generate more mental energy is to create habits.  Establishing effective habits in our daily routine helps us create ease and flow in our day.  When you have fewer decisions to make it frees up your mind for creative thinking and making purposeful choices.  A key to understanding this concept is to think about the inverse relationship between habits and willpower.

Mapping Your 2016 Journey— Create Your Destination

dreamstime_m_44412153The start of the New Year is a time when many people feel the need to set goals, to make a list of resolutions, even promising a complete re-boot of their lives.  Many of these are things that we have deferred, and let pile up for the months leading up to the New Year, and it is really no wonder that this varied collection of resolutions fails within the first month.

This year I am suggesting to my clients to think of entering 2016 with a broader mindset of creating goals that are transformational versus transactional, for example instead of saying “I will lose 15 pounds” to challenge
