Summer Re-Fresh

Summer is a time of fresh fruit, fresh veggies and fresh ideas. Everyday when I check the veggie garden I look for a new strawberry or to see if the tomatoes have ripen. I get excited watching the growth and change in color.

It has made me think about what fresh ideas I can bring to my life, work or play? How can I grow? Summer is a time for embracing the fresh air and a fresh perspective! Disclaimer: no fruit in photo is from my garden but a girl can dream😊

Taking the First Step In Making A Change

Summer is in full swing and we are over half the way through 2017 so NOW is the perfect time for you to check in on the changes you want (or planned) to make in your life this year.  Before you ask yourself questions like:

  • What you want more of? Less of?
  • What have you been putting off doing?
  • What were you planning to start after… or when everything slowed down?

Take a moment and close your eyes and SOAR above the details and to-do’s of your everyday routine.  Like a balloon floating in air, rise above and enjoy the view.

Quick Tip to Enjoy the Holiday Season

As we go rushing into the week after Thanksgiving and heading towards the holiday season I thought it would be a good time to remind us all about the benefits of slowing down and reflecting.  I came across a post written by Leo Babauta in which he encourages us to “Breathe”.  My hope for you is that you give yourself the gift of time and take advantage of this simple way to “be in the moment”.

Breathe.

Breathing can transform your

Free Up Your Mind by Creating Habits

fog1-800pxWe can all agree that there is a glorification of BUSY going on and there is no shortage of suggestions on how to “Be more productive” or being asked to “Do more with less”.  One often overlooked way to help us save time in our day and generate more mental energy is to create habits.  Establishing effective habits in our daily routine helps us create ease and flow in our day.  When you have fewer decisions to make it frees up your mind for creative thinking and making purposeful choices.  A key to understanding this concept is to think about the inverse relationship between habits and willpower.

Avoiding the “Too-Busy-To-Be” Trap

Are you busy being busy?  Life is too shortPlane_in_the_sky_mo_01.svg to be spending our days on Autopilot and not engaged in what we are doing.  We need to BE in the moment and enjoy how we are spending our time. Have you noticed “I’m busy!” is quickly becoming the new “Hello – how are you”? It seems whenever I run into someone or talk to a client and ask how things are going the reply is “super busy” or “hectic” or some variation on that theme. Depending on whom I am talking to and where, I often ask “busy doing what?” and the common response is

Mapping Your 2016 Journey— Create Your Destination

dreamstime_m_44412153The start of the New Year is a time when many people feel the need to set goals, to make a list of resolutions, even promising a complete re-boot of their lives.  Many of these are things that we have deferred, and let pile up for the months leading up to the New Year, and it is really no wonder that this varied collection of resolutions fails within the first month.

This year I am suggesting to my clients to think of entering 2016 with a broader mindset of creating goals that are transformational versus transactional, for example instead of saying “I will lose 15 pounds” to challenge

Fall into Something New – Make Changes in Your Life

jumpingIt is a time of change. Summer is over and the Fall season has started. There is a change in the air and on the ground.  Football season has kicked off and pumpkins and Halloween decorations are all-around.  It is a season of beauty, energy and a time of change.  Driving around town I was in awe of the vibrant colors of the leaves and the crunching sound of them under my tires.  It took me back to my childhood when I would go running and jumping into a giant pile of leaves.   The change in temperature creates a nip in the air which energizes and
